TULSA, Okla., (July 25, 2019) During the month of June 2019, Sweets & Cream proudly partnered with Oklahomans for Equality through its Tips for Charity program. This charitable initiative is in full force year-round with an end-goal of supporting local non-profit organizations with their missions of working towards the betterment of the Tulsa community and the people that are a part of it. The driving effort of giving back to the community is a main objective of the ice cream cookie sandwich shop located at 11th & Yale. Customers and patrons generously gave towards the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center and the donations received totaled $1431.96.

As a result of the many that gave towards this cause, Tips for Charity was able to support OkEq's Alphabet SOUP Youth Program and its important mission of supporting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) youth ages 13-17 through the providing of services, outreach, unity, and preparation for adulthood. OkEq is proud to offer a safe, warm, welcoming, and affirming environment for young people that want to explore their individual identities, develop leadership skills, and contribute to a collective community. Alphabet SOUP meets every Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and participants are afforded the opportunity to take part in activities - such as hearing guest speakers and going on social outings.

Sweets & Cream hosted its first-ever Pride Party event in support of the Oklahoma Equality Center. In honor of the event, the ice cream cookie sandwich shop created rainbow pride sugar cookies and a RainBowl dessert. Tulsans from all around the city came out to take part in the joint efforts of the organizations and to show their love and support of the equality center's continued mission and dedication to the youth in the community.
