TULSA, Okla., (April 24, 2019) Sweets & Cream began its 2019 Tips for Charity initiative with Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma. Through its continued efforts of giving back to the community, the ice cream cookie sandwich shop located at 11th & Yale collected monies from its generous patrons during the months of February and March. This initiative is in effect year-round with an end-goal of supporting local non-profit organizations that work towards the betterment of the Tulsa community and the people that are a part of it. The donations that were collected for Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma totaled $907.64.

With the help of so many that gave towards this cause, Tips for Charity was able to help the organization continue its mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. The Girl Scouts experience is executed through a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities. These include earning badges, going on trips, selling cookies, exploring science, and completing community service projects. Important skills that are acquired along the way include science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship skills. This results in the girls developing a strong sense of self, supporting positive values, seeking challenges, building healthy relationships, and solving problems throughout the community.
