TULSA, Okla., (May 9, 2019) In honor of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month, Sweets & Cream partnered with Animal Aid of Tulsa as its April 2019 Tips for Charity recipient. The ongoing effort of giving back to the community is a main objective of the ice cream cookie sandwich shop located at 11th & Yale. The initiative is in full force year-round with an end-goal of supporting local non-profit organizations that work towards the betterment of the Tulsa community and the people that are a part of it. The donations that were collected for Animal Aid of Tulsa during the month of April totaled $869.84.

As a result of the many that donated towards this important cause, Tips for Charity was able to support Animal Aid in its continued mission of rescuing sick, injured, and abused stray animals. The organization works to nurse these animals back to health and find them loving homes while fighting for the rights of companion animals in the community of Tulsa. They are the oldest rescue in the city, founded in 1961. Every dollar that's received goes directly to a vet bill. Animal Aid takes on the expensive medical cases that other rescues cannot afford.

Sweets & Cream held a one-day 'Gone to the Dogs' event in honor of the month's Tips for Charity recipient. Local Tulsa patrons came out with their companions to support the bake shop and learn more about the Animal Aid organization. Sweets & Cream also made their first-ever dog cookies in honor of the month.
